In support of the continued operation of the Bridgman Public Library, shall the limitation on the total amount of taxes which may be assessed against the taxable valuation of all real and personal property in the City of Bridgman liable for taxation be set at one (1) mill ($1.00 per each $1,000 of taxable valuation), which includes a current Charter millage for the Bridgman Public Library of .6919 mills ($0.6919 per each $1,000 of taxable valuation) plus an increase of .3081 mills ($.3081 per each $1,000 of taxable valuation) to override the Headlee reductions to the current Library Millage and bring the total amount of the Library Millage to one (1) mill? The authorization for the additional proposed Library Millage is of a perpetual duration and would raise approximately $48,887.32 in the first year of levy (2027).

In plain language

A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.

Bridgman voters are asked to set the city library millage at one mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable valuation). The total would combine the current charter library millage of .6919 mills with an increase of .3081 mills. The increase is meant to override Headlee reductions to the current library millage. The authorization for the additional millage is of perpetual duration. The wording estimates it would raise approximately $48,887.32 in the first year of levy, 2027. A YES vote approves the increase; a NO vote does not.
