The question on your ballot

Shall the previous voted increase in the tax limitations imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution in Valley Township, of 2.0 mills ($2.00 per $1,000 of taxable value), as reduced by the required millage rollbacks, be renewed at and increased up to the original voted 2.0 mills ($2.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) and levied for 4 years, 2027 through 2030 inclusive, for the purpose of township road maintenance, improvements, repair and construction, raising an estimated $257,324 in the first year the millage is levied?

In plain language

A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.

Valley Township voters are asked to renew a road millage and increase it back to its original rate. The previous voted increase of 2.0 mills ($2.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) has been reduced by required millage rollbacks, and the proposal would restore it up to the original 2.0 mills. It would be levied for four years, 2027 through 2030 inclusive, for township road maintenance, improvements, repair, and construction, raising an estimated $257,324 in the first year. A YES vote approves both the renewal and the increase; a NO vote rejects the whole question, including the renewal.
