A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.
Cheshire Township voters are asked to approve an increase of up to 3.0 mills ($3.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) in the township tax limit for public roads. The levy would run five years, 2026 through 2030 inclusive. The money would go to Cheshire Township and the Allegan County Road Commission to maintain, preserve, improve or reconstruct existing public local roads. The wording says this could include upgrading existing aggregate surface roads to hard surface roads. The first-year levy is estimated at $308,085. A YES vote approves the millage; a NO vote does not.
