Town of San Anselmo · Marin County · November 3, 2026
The question on your ballot
To maintain rapid 9-1-1 emergency response times and preserve the number of on-duty paramedics ready to respond to accidents/medical emergencies, shall the Ross Valley Paramedic Authority measure be adopted continuing for four years the paramedic services special tax of up to $107.50/residential living unit or 1,000 square feet of developed nonresidential property, adjusted up to $4/year, generating approximately $688,000 annually, with annual audits, public spending disclosure and all funds for local paramedic services?
In plain language
Measure V would extend San Anselmo's special tax for paramedic services for four more years. The Ross Valley Paramedic Authority runs these services. The tax was first approved in 1983. It has been extended and raised every four years since then. For 2026-27, the tax is $103.50 per home or per 1,500 square feet of business space. Under Measure V, it would be $107.50 per home or per 1,000 square feet of business space in 2027-28. Starting in 2028-29, the Town Council could raise it by up to $4.00 a year, to a top rate of $118.00 in 2030-31. The money can only be used for paramedic services. The tax would end June 30, 2031, unless voters extend it again. A YES vote extends the tax for four years and allows the yearly increases. A NO vote is a vote against extending the tax. The measure needs a two-thirds vote to pass.
