This question asks voters in Fosston Public Schools (Independent School District No. 601) to approve two items together. One is a capital project levy of up to 8.583% of the district's net tax capacity, a measure of the taxable value of property in the district. A capital project levy is a property tax for a set list of school projects and purchases. This one would raise about $670,000 in its first year, taxes payable in 2027, and would last ten years. It would pay for curriculum, textbooks, supplies and technology-related staff costs. The other item is general obligation bonds of up to $3,240,000. These are loans repaid with interest from property taxes. They would pay for security, technology, vehicles, equipment and similar needs at school sites and facilities. The ballot notes that a YES vote is a vote for a property tax increase. A YES vote approves both items. A NO vote means neither is approved.
