The question on your ballot

Shall Section 12.4 of the City Charter be amended to move the beginning of an elected officer's term to noon on the first Monday of the month following the regular City election at which the officer is elected? Currently, an elected officer's term begins on the first Monday after the regular City election at which the officer is elected.

In plain language

A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.

Ann Arbor voters are asked whether to amend Section 12.4 of the City Charter on when an elected officer's term begins. The amendment would move the start of the term to noon on the first Monday of the month following the regular City election at which the officer is elected. The wording says that under the current charter, the term begins on the first Monday after that regular City election. A YES vote approves Proposal D; a NO vote keeps the current start time.
