Corunna · Shiawassee County · November 3, 2026

The question on your ballot

An Amendment To The City Of Corunna Charter Such That The City Of Corunna Shall Be Elected At-Large Rather Than By Separate Wards As Terms Expire. Shall the Corunna City Charter Section 4.2 be amended to eliminate the election of one (1) Councilman from each ward for a term of four (4) years at each regular city election in favor of electing three (3) Councilpersons four (4) years at each regular city election without ward residency requirements?

In plain language

A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.

Corunna voters are asked whether to amend Section 4.2 of the city charter to change how council members are elected. Under the change, the city would elect three council members at-large, without ward residency requirements, for four-year terms at each regular city election. The question would end the current practice of electing one councilman from each ward for four years at each regular election. A YES vote adopts at-large elections; a NO vote keeps ward-based elections.
