Proposition A - Village Charter Chapter III Section 1 (elected officers)

Village of Alpha · Iron County County · November 3, 2026

The question on your ballot

Chapter III, Section 1 of the Village Charter Charter currently provides that the president, six trustees, one clerk, one treasurer and one assessor are elected officers. The proposed amendment would remove the Clerk and Treasurer from the list of elected officers so that those positions may instead be appointed. The transition would occur through attrition as current elected terms expire, and no current elected term would be shortened. This amendment would take effect only if Proposition B is approved. Shall Chapter III, Section 1 of the Village Charter be amended accordingly?

Proposition A would amend Chapter III, Section 1 of the Village of Alpha Charter. It would remove the Clerk and Treasurer from the list of elected officers so those positions could be appointed instead. The change would happen through attrition as current elected terms expire, and no current term would be shortened. This amendment takes effect only if Proposition B is approved. A YES vote approves this change, and a NO vote keeps the Clerk and Treasurer as elected officers.
