Oviedo: drop roll-call requirement for council votes

Oviedo city · November 3, 2026

The question on your ballot

Shall the Oviedo City Charter be amended to revise Council voting procedures for ordinances and resolutions, removing the requirement for a roll call vote, while maintaining the requirement that each Councilmember present cast an affirmative or negative vote (except as provided by State law), and maintaining the requirement that the Clerk record the individual vote of each Councilmember in the Council meeting minutes?

In plain language

A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.

This measure would revise Oviedo City Council voting procedures for ordinances and resolutions. It would remove the requirement for a roll call vote. Each councilmember present would still have to cast an affirmative or negative vote, except as State law provides. The clerk would still record each councilmember's individual vote in the minutes. A YES vote removes the roll call requirement, while a NO vote keeps it.
