Oviedo city · November 3, 2026

The question on your ballot

Shall the Oviedo City Charter be amended to change the term of office for City Councilmembers from two years to four years, beginning with the 2028 election, and provide for a three year term for City Councilmembers elected in the 2027 regular election, to transition to an election cycle that coincides with the even-year Presidential and Gubernatorial elections?

In plain language

A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.

The Oviedo City Council currently serves two-year terms. This measure would change council terms to four years, beginning with the 2028 election. Councilmembers elected in the 2027 regular election would serve a three-year term. The change moves council elections to the even-year cycle that coincides with the Presidential and Gubernatorial elections. A YES vote approves four-year council terms, while a NO vote keeps two-year terms.
