A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.
This charter amendment requires a supermajority council vote for the village to convey or purchase fee simple title to real property. In plain terms, that means selling or buying land. The amendment also requires a supermajority vote to change the Future Land Use Map or zoning of certain village-owned property. A supermajority vote is also needed to change village park property to uses not permitted in the Recreation or Conservation districts. A YES vote adopts this amendment. A NO vote keeps the current voting rules for these decisions.
