Pedestrian, Bicycling, and Golf Cart Facilities in Roadway Improvements Projects
Palmetto Bay village · November 3, 2026
The question on your ballot
It is proposed to add a Village Charter section requiring pedestrian, bicycling, and golf cart facilities in roadway improvement projects, unless waived by a vote of at least 4 Councilmembers and written findings that such facilities are infeasible or disproportionate to overall project costs. The amendment also creates a dedicated Transportation Fund, using existing transportation revenues, for mobility and safety improvements like sidewalks, bike paths, and traffic calming. Shall the above-described amendment be adopted?
In plain language
A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.
The Palmetto Bay charter would require pedestrian, bicycling, and golf cart facilities in road projects. The requirement could be waived by a vote of at least 4 Councilmembers. The waiver needs written findings that the facilities are infeasible or disproportionate to costs. The amendment would also create a Transportation Fund from existing transportation revenues. That fund would pay for sidewalks, bike paths, and traffic calming. A YES vote adopts these requirements. A NO vote does not add them.
