Establishing Single Member Districts for Councilmembers
Palmetto Bay village · November 3, 2026
The question on your ballot
The Charter currently provides at large elections for Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Councilmembers. The proposed amendment would make Councilmember Seats 1, 2, and 3 single member districts beginning with the regular election for Seat 2 in 2028 and Seats 1 and 3 in 2030. The amendment would also establish redistricting standards and maintain at large elections for Mayor and Vice Mayor. Shall the above-described Charter amendment be adopted?

A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.
The Palmetto Bay charter currently elects the Mayor, Vice Mayor, and Councilmembers at large. This amendment would make Councilmember Seats 1, 2, and 3 single member districts. Seat 2 would change beginning with the regular election in 2028, and Seats 1 and 3 beginning in 2030. The amendment would also establish redistricting standards and keep at-large elections for Mayor and Vice Mayor. A YES vote adopts these districts, while a NO vote keeps all at-large elections.
