Require consideration of acquiring USDA property for parks
Palmetto Bay village · November 3, 2026
The question on your ballot
The United States Department of Agriculture owns property in the Village at approximately SW 136 Street and SW 67 Avenue. Though not at this time, the property could one day become available. If it does, the proposed amendment would require the Village to use its best efforts to acquire the property for public park, recreational and/or open space purposes and protect it with a restrictive covenant. Shall the above-described Charter amendment be adopted?
In plain language
A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture owns property in the Village near SW 136 Street and SW 67 Avenue. The property is not available at this time. If it ever becomes available, the Village would use its best efforts to buy it. The land would be kept for parks, recreation, or open space and protected by a restrictive covenant. A YES vote adopts this requirement. A NO vote does not add it to the charter.
