Four-year term of office for City Mayor

Coral Gables city · November 3, 2026

The question on your ballot

The City Charter currently provides for a two-year term for the City's Mayor. Shall the City Charter be amended to increase the term of office for the Mayor to four years, consistent with the term of office for City Commissioners, beginning with the 2028 Coral Gables General Election with no change to the associated term limit?

In plain language

A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.

The Coral Gables charter currently gives the City Mayor a two-year term. This measure would extend the mayor's term to four years, matching the term of City Commissioners. The change would begin with the 2028 Coral Gables General Election and would not change the associated term limit. A YES vote adopts the four-year mayoral term. A NO vote keeps the two-year term.
