The question on your ballot

Shall the City Charter of the City of Stuart, Florida be amended to add the following provision: The City Commission shall not sell, convey or lease for more than 1 year including any renewal options, any City-owned real property containing recreational ballfields unless first approved by the voters through a public referendum held under Charter Section 9.04 procedures for vacating public streets or abandoning right-of-way.

In plain language

A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.

Stuart's charter amendment would require voter approval before the city sells or leases certain city-owned land. The rule covers city-owned real property that contains recreational ballfields, when a sale or lease would run more than 1 year, including renewal options. Approval would come through a public referendum. A YES vote adds this requirement to the city charter. A NO vote leaves the charter without this requirement.
