Wilton Manors: fill vacancies if whole commission is removed
Wilton Manors city · November 3, 2026
The question on your ballot
The Charter currently authorizes the Governor to fill vacancies if all commissioners, including the mayor, are removed from office. Shall the Charter be amended to provide for the City Manager, or Assistant City Manager, to appoint a mayor and two commissioners, for those appointees to appoint two additional members of the commission, and for the interim commission to call a Special Election if there is more than 180 calendar days remaining in the unexpired term(s)?
In plain language
A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.
Right now, the charter lets the Governor fill vacancies if the whole commission is removed. This measure would have the City Manager or Assistant City Manager appoint a mayor and two commissioners. Those appointees would then appoint two more members, and the interim commission would call a Special Election if more than 180 calendar days remain. A YES vote adopts this process, while a NO vote keeps the Governor's authority.
