Lauderdale-by-the-Sea: let former mayor-commissioner run for commissioner

Lauderdale-by-the-Sea town · November 3, 2026

The question on your ballot

The Town Charter allows Commissioners to run for Mayor-Commissioner at the conclusion of their term, but the Mayor-Commissioner is not similarly allowed to run for Commissioner at the conclusion of his or her term. Shall the Town Charter be amended to allow a person who has served as Mayor-Commissioner to run for and serve as a Commissioner at the conclusion of their service as Mayor-Commissioner, if permissible under the maximum term limits?

In plain language

A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.

This measure would let a person who has served as Mayor-Commissioner run for and serve as a Commissioner once their mayoral service ends. The option applies only if it is permitted under the maximum term limits. A YES vote adds this option to the town charter, while a NO vote does not.
