Louisville · November 3, 2026

The question on your ballot

Shall the City of Louisville Home Rule Charter be amended to increase the number of signatures required for initiative petitions from 5 percent to 7.5 percent of registered electors and to increase the number of signatures required for referendum petitions from 2.5 percent to 5 percent of registered electors?

In plain language

A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.

Louisville Question 2E would raise the signatures needed for petitions. Initiative petitions would need signatures from 7.5 percent of registered electors, up from 5 percent. Referendum petitions would need 5 percent, up from 2.5 percent. A YES vote adopts these higher thresholds. A NO vote keeps the current levels.
