Boulder County · Boulder County County · November 3, 2026

The question on your ballot

If the membership of the Boulder County Board of Commissioners is increased from a three member board to a five member board, by what method shall the Boulder County Board of Commissioners be elected? (Vote for One) a. Five commissioners resident in districts to be elected only by voters resident in the district; or b. Three commissioners resident in districts to be elected only by voters resident in the district; plus two commissioners resident in any district to be elected by voters of the whole county.

In plain language

A VoterDecoder summary of the official measure text.

Boulder County Question 201 asks how five commissioners would be elected, if Question 200 passes. Voters choose one of two options rather than voting YES or NO. Option a would elect all five commissioners from districts, with only voters who live in each district choosing them. Option b would elect three commissioners from districts, with only district voters choosing them, and two commissioners elected by voters across the whole county. The question matters only if the board grows to five members.
