Archuleta County Ballot Issue 1A would raise the county lodging tax from 2% to 6% starting January 1, 2027, on stays of less than 30 days outside the Town of Pagosa Springs, which has its own lodging tax. The increase would raise about $1,080,000 a year at first. The new revenue would go 80% to county roads, 10% to public safety and emergency dispatch, and 10% to child care for the local workforce. A YES vote approves the increase. A NO vote keeps the 2% rate.
