Measure K: MEASURE K

City of Weed · Siskiyou County · November 3, 2026

The question on your ballot

Shall a measure maintaining 911 emergency services, fire protection and wildfire prevention, emergency medical response; 24-hour police patrol/protection, building safety and inspection; streets, roads, sidewalks and City infrastructure; snow removal, and other general City services, long-term financial stability, by establishing a 1.5% sales tax providing approximately $1,700,000 annually until repealed by voters, subject to regular audits, be adopted?

In plain language

Measure K would create a new 1.5% sales tax in the City of Weed. A YES vote adds the tax to keep paying for 911 emergency services and fire protection. It would also fund wildfire prevention and emergency medical response. Other uses include 24-hour police patrol, building safety, streets and roads, and snow removal, plus other City services. A NO vote means the tax is not added. The tax would continue until voters repeal it, with regular audits.

Fiscal impact

The sales tax is expected to raise about $1,700,000 a year.
