Measure F: PROPOSED COUNTY CHARTER AMENDMENT TO ADDRESS UNEXPECTED VACANCIES OF AN ELECTED DEPARTMENT HEAD Measure F
Shasta County · Shasta County · November 3, 2026
The question on your ballot
Shall Measure F (Adding to the Shasta County Charter) be adopted? This measure adds a subsection to the Shasta County Charter. The proposed addition would allow for members of the Board of Supervisors to appoint or call for a special election to fill an unplanned mid-term vacancy of designated elected department heads.
In plain language
Measure F would add a new part to the Shasta County Charter. The charter is the county's basic set of rules. The new part covers certain elected department heads. If one of these jobs opens up in the middle of a term without warning, the Board of Supervisors could fill it. The board could either appoint someone or call a special election. A YES vote adds this part to the charter. A NO vote means it is not added.
