Measure L: General Plan Amendment

City of Cupertino · Santa Clara County · November 3, 2026

The question on your ballot

Shall an ordinance amending the City of Cupertino General Plan be adopted to mandate that any attempt to rezone parks, parklands or open space to residential, commercial or industrial uses, or any proposal for residential, commercial or industrial development in parks, parkland or open space, must be placed before Cupertino voters and secure two-thirds support in the City's next general election?

In plain language

Measure L is a Cupertino city measure. It is about the city's General Plan. A YES vote adds a new rule. Any attempt to rezone parks, parkland, or open space must go to voters. This applies to rezoning for homes, businesses, or industry. It also applies to any proposal to build homes, businesses, or industry there. Cupertino voters would need to approve it. Two-thirds of voters must support it at the city's next general election. A NO vote does not add this voter-approval requirement.
