Measure DD: Measure DD – City of San Bruno: Fireworks Ban Measure

City of San Bruno · San Mateo County · November 3, 2026

The question on your ballot

Shall the City of San Bruno Safe and Sane Fireworks Ordinance be repealed to prohibit the sale, use, and discharge of safe and sane fireworks in the City of San Bruno?

In plain language

Measure DD would ban 'safe and sane' fireworks in San Bruno. These are fireworks approved by federal and state safety officials. In 2005, San Bruno voters approved a law allowing limited sale and use of these fireworks. Measure DD would repeal that law. It would ban selling, using and setting off safe and sane fireworks in the city. A YES vote bans them. A NO vote keeps the current limited sale and use. The measure needs a majority vote.
