Measure U
City of San Marino · Los Angeles County · November 3, 2026
The question on your ballot
SAN MARINO SERVICE PRESERVATION MEASURE. To maintain existing funding which supports essential San Marino services including: police, fire, paramedic, emergency preparedness, repairing streets and sidewalks and other City infrastructure, providing youth and senior programs, and general government use; shall the City of San Marino measure be adopted extending the currently existing utility users tax at a rate of 6 percent, raising $2,620,000 annually, until ended by voters?
In plain language
Measure U lets San Marino keep an existing tax that pays for city services. A YES vote extends the city's utility users tax at its current rate of 6 percent. This tax helps pay for police, fire, and paramedics. It also helps pay for emergency preparedness, street and sidewalk repairs, and youth and senior programs. It would raise about $2,620,000 a year and continue until voters end it. A NO vote lets this tax expire.
Fiscal impact
The utility users tax is extended at 6 percent. It would raise $2,620,000 each year. It lasts until voters end it.
