Measure RCCity of RosemeadCharter

Measure RC

City of Rosemead · Los Angeles County · November 3, 2026

The question on your ballot

Shall the City of Rosemead Charter be adopted to establish Rosemead as a charter city to have more authority over municipal affairs, imposing term limits on City Councilmembers, establishing the position of City prosecutor, permitting use of City funds or economic development, continuing following California law for limiting compensation for Councilmembers, and giving the City Council authority to adopt an ordinance giving veterans and disabled veterans preference in awarding contracts?

In plain language

Measure RC would make Rosemead a charter city instead of a general law city. This gives it more control over its own local affairs. A YES vote would set term limits for City Council members. It would create a City Prosecutor position. It would allow city funds to be used for economic development. Council member pay would still follow state law. The Council could pass a rule giving preference to veterans and disabled veterans in city contracts. A NO vote keeps Rosemead as a general law city without these changes.
