In plain language
Measure X would let the Liberty Union High School District borrow money. It would do this by selling $165,000,000 in bonds. A YES vote approves the bonds. The money would repair aging classrooms and fix roofs, plumbing, heating, and electrical systems. It would also remove asbestos and lead pipes. It would upgrade science labs, libraries, and technology. A NO vote means the district does not borrow this money for these repairs. Property owners would pay the bonds back through a property tax while the bonds are outstanding.
Fiscal impact
The tax rate is $20 per $100,000 of assessed property value. It would raise about $11,300,000 each year while the bonds are outstanding.
