Positions in brief
Prioritizes fiscal discipline, attainable housing, public safety, accessibility, and government transparency.
Solovay has campaigned on wanting 'a budget that adds up,' emphasizing fiscal discipline to address what she describes as the city's structural deficit through rigorous analysis. On housing, she supports 'attainable housing' for working families and seniors, aiming to meet state housing obligations without changes that would alter the town's character. She has cited her own family's house fire and the fire department's response as a formative reason she prioritizes maintaining core public-safety services. She has also committed to road and infrastructure maintenance, argued for accessibility and inclusion as a default rather than an afterthought in streets, sidewalks, and public buildings, supports policies to help independent shops, restaurants, and the farmers market survive, and calls for transparent, accountable government with plain-language communication.
