Rob Moore
Candidate for City Council (At-Large), Los Gatos · Los Gatos Town Council Member
Rob Moore was elected to the Los Gatos Town Council in November 2022 and was appointed Mayor in December 2025, becoming the town's youngest-ever mayor and the only councilmember under 60. He previously worked as a manager with the San Jose Conservation Corps.
Positions in brief
As mayor he has prioritized housing, youth and family programs, street safety, emergency preparedness, environmental stewardship, and small-business support, while pledging to keep taxes from rising.
Moore points to a certified housing plan he says restores local control over development while curbing overdevelopment and building more affordable homes. On public safety, he backs a community-oriented police force plus a full-time homelessness case manager and social worker to handle calls better suited to social services, and more competitively paid police dispatchers. On the economy, he wants to cut red tape and unnecessary fees for small businesses and developers. On infrastructure, he calls for more community amenities and safer, slower neighborhood streets. On taxes, he says he will work to avoid or mitigate increases through outside funding and financial analysis rather than cutting services. On government, he emphasizes transparency, efficiency, accessibility, and filling vacant staff positions with qualified professionals.
