Jeff Suzuki

Candidate for City Council (At-Large), Los Gatos · Economic Analyst

Jeff Suzuki is a Los Gatos native who attended Los Gatos public schools and graduated from Los Gatos High School. He earned a degree in economics with honors from U.C. Berkeley and a master's degree in data science from Northwestern University. He works as an economic analyst providing research for high-profile litigation. He has served as a town commissioner in Los Gatos, where he proposed solutions to weekend beach traffic, and he led a campaign aimed at preventing homelessness in the town. He won Santa Clara County's Presidential Community Hero Award and has volunteered extensively in the community.

Jeff Suzuki says Los Gatos needs "proactive and pragmatic leadership" on transportation, housing and community services. On transportation, he wants free bus and light rail passes for students and school staff (starting with a pilot at Los Gatos High School), support for the VTA Vasona Line Expansion to Los Gatos, continued investment in the town's Bicycle and Pedestrian Masterplan, and steps to reduce weekend beach traffic cutting through Los Gatos neighborhoods. On housing, he supports what he calls a "proactive approach" intended to avoid the state's Builder's Remedy process while backing projects he says the community needs. He also lists preserving the Los Gatos Creek Trail and open green space, and pursuing a future Los Gatos Community Center, among his priorities.
