Randy Carrasco
Candidate for City Council Member, Carpinteria, District 5 · Parole Agent Supervisor
Randy Carrasco is a parole agent supervisor with nearly three decades in law enforcement and public service: a correctional officer since 1998, a parole agent since 2005, and a parole agent supervisor for the past five years. He has lived in Carpinteria for 11 years and in District 5 for 6 years, is married and raising children locally, and his wife owns a Carpinteria business. He volunteers coaching youth sports.
Carrasco says growth in Carpinteria is not really in question, only how the city manages it, and he wants development decisions weighed against their effects on neighborhoods, businesses, public safety, traffic, and quality of life. He has named supporting local businesses while protecting the city's character, maintaining a balanced city budget, and addressing illegal and long-term RV parking in District 5 as his three priorities if elected.
