Pranita Venkatesh moved to San Carlos in 2009 with her husband to raise their two children. An early-childhood education advocate, she owns a Montessori preschool in the city. Positions in brief
Venkatesh's priorities include public safety, childcare, economic stability, infrastructure, and affordable housing, with particular focus on housing that lets teachers, restaurant workers, laborers, and first responders live in San Carlos.
Venkatesh has supported a housing project on three county-owned parcels near downtown that would include a minimum of 75 affordable homes, citing the site's proximity to downtown and transit as an opportunity to advance affordable-housing goals. She has also pointed to the corridor between El Camino Real and Highway 101 as an important economic driver, saying business diversity needs to be part of the landscape on the city's east side.
