Jordan Duncan

Candidate for City Council Member, Lodi, District 2 · Father/Law Enforcement Alt 1 Selected

Jordan Duncan is a lifelong Lodi resident who graduated from Lodi High School in 2012 and attended San Joaquin Delta College. He began his law enforcement career as a cadet with the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office while in college and became a deputy sheriff trainee in 2014. He joined the Lodi Police Department in 2019 but left the department after about four months; he has stated he opposed enforcing certain COVID-19-era public health restrictions, including those affecting churches. He has continued working in law enforcement-related roles since, including as a school resource officer, SWAT team member, defensive tactics instructor, armorer, Explorer program adviser, and community-oriented policing unit adviser. He is a father of four.

Positions in brief

Duncan's platform centers on fiscal restraint, bolstering local law enforcement, safer parks, and more transparent, accountable city government.

Duncan says city government needs to operate within its means and prioritize essential services rather than defaulting to higher taxes, and calls for empowering and bolstering local law enforcement to deter crime. He wants residents to be able to take their children to a park without feeling unsafe, and pledges responsive, transparent, and accountable representation with better communication between City Hall and residents.
