Lei Ann Varletta Larson is a longtime Manteca resident who holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with an emphasis in finance and has worked in the legal profession for more than 30 years. A mother, grandmother, and wife of a long-haul trucker, she has in recent years become an outspoken voice in Manteca civic affairs, weighing in publicly on the direction the city has taken on public safety and municipal services. She has said she wants city leaders to stand behind the police department, fire department, teachers, and other city employees who serve the community.

Larson's public comments have centered on supporting the people who deliver city services day to day — police officers, firefighters, teachers, and municipal staff — and on holding city government accountable to residents.
