Positions in brief
Naven wants the city to pay for fire and police needs first. He wants that done before it spends more sales tax money on recreation projects. He also wants more openness about how tax money is spent.
Naven wants a clear plan to pay for fire and police jobs first. He says the city should do this before it spends more sales tax money on things like a new pool complex. He points to a long-delayed sixth fire station and a needed seventh station as bigger needs. He wants the city to be open about where tax dollars go. He is cautious about city land deals made without a clear plan, like a downtown building purchase. He believes growth in Manteca should help current residents, not outside interests. He backs asking voters if they want term limits for the mayor and council.
