Jeremy Julian Greco

Candidate for San Francisco County Supervisorial District 4

Jeremy Greco has lived in San Francisco for about 30 years. This includes 26 years in the Outer Sunset. He works as a campus coordinator at Presidio Hill School. He was previously a worker-owner at the Other Avenues Food Cooperative. He describes himself as a renter, caregiver, school worker, and parent. He says he is not a City Hall insider. He was initially skeptical of the Sunset Dunes park. That park replaced the closed Upper Great Highway. He says he came to appreciate it. One reason was an art installation called 'Ocean Calling.' It is a phone booth where visitors can send messages to people they've lost. He used it after a close friend died of cancer.

Positions in brief

Greco wants to keep the Upper Great Highway closed to cars. He wants it to stay as the Sunset Dunes park. He wants to protect renters in two-unit buildings. He wants them protected from new upzoning rules. He also wants to expand affordable housing. He favors models like community land trusts for this.

Greco supports keeping Sunset Dunes in place. He does not want the highway reopened to vehicles. He says many former skeptics have come around. He says this happened after they experienced the park firsthand. On housing, he wants to change the city's Family Zoning Plan. He wants renters in two-unit buildings to get the same protections. Larger rent-controlled buildings already get these protections under the law. He favors building affordable housing through models like community land trusts. He does not favor broad upzoning of small buildings instead. On public safety, he has called for continued police foot patrols. He also wants safer commercial corridors. He wants coordinated responses to nuisance crime and property crime too.
