Positions in brief

Cortez's priorities include advancing the Horseshoe Bar Road/I-80 interchange project, adding downtown parking, and preserving Loomis' small-town character amid growth.

On her campaign site, Cortez lists advancing the Horseshoe Bar Road/I-80 Interchange Project to reduce congestion and improve safety as a top priority, and points to helping secure roughly $1 million in state appropriations for local projects and expanding safe sidewalks and traffic improvements. She also supports creating downtown parking to support local businesses, partnering with the Loomis Union School District on land acquisition, and backing improvements at Del Oro High School. She frames her overall approach as preserving Loomis' small-town character while promoting thoughtful, responsible growth, protecting local control against outside mandates, and maintaining sound fiscal stewardship.
