Bonnie Schoch
Candidate for Mayor, St Helena · ACCOUNTANT
Bonnie Schoch is a former chief financial officer of Cuvaison Estate Wines, retiring from that role in 2024. She previously served eight years on the St. Helena school board and eight years on the St. Helena City Council.
Positions in brief
Schoch has centered her campaign on fiscal responsibility, warning that an economic downturn has strained city cash reserves, and on making City Hall more welcoming to new businesses.
Schoch has said the city's budget and the need for fiscal accountability are the primary issues it faces, warning that a shortage of cash could affect the city for three to five years and that costs need to be controlled without continuing to draw down reserves. She has also said City Hall needs to be more 'welcoming and open to new businesses,' and has supported a new general plan that would remove old caps on the number of restaurants and hotels to help the local economy recover.
