Positions in brief
His platform centers on maintaining city infrastructure, keeping Pacific Grove on sound financial footing, and protecting the coastline and other natural and public assets.
Smith says he wants to keep attention on roads, sidewalks, sewer systems and the other public assets residents rely on daily, and to balance the city's near-term needs against its long-term financial health. He has also emphasized protecting the coastline and natural resources that he says make Pacific Grove unique, and has spoken more broadly about building a welcoming, walkable, economically healthy and connected city through what he describes as competent, practical city government.
