Luke Coletti

Candidate for Mayor, Pacific Grove · Public Policy Advocate

Coletti is a lifelong resident of Pacific Grove who has spent more than a decade engaged in the city's local government and civic affairs. He has served on the City Council, where he has authored more than a dozen ordinances and policies covering government reform, the environment, land use, transparency and fiscal responsibility. In 2018 he helped author Measure M, a citizens' initiative limiting short-term vacation rentals, and he later brought forth Measure Q (2024), which strengthened the city's longstanding prohibition on timeshares. He authored a successful citizens' referendum giving voters the final say on mayor and council pay raises, served on the council subcommittee that hired a new city attorney, proposed the charter amendment that reduced the council from six members plus a mayor to four members plus a mayor, and initiated an actuarial analysis of the city's CalPERS pension plans along with monthly public reporting of all city-issued checks.

Positions in brief

He has focused on affordable housing, protecting the natural environment, and infrastructure maintenance, while continuing the government-transparency and fiscal-oversight work that has defined his time on the council.

Coletti says he wants to preserve and protect the residential character of Pacific Grove and the quality of life its residents share. His stated priorities include pursuing affordable housing opportunities, protecting the city's natural environment, and promoting youth recreation and a reestablished Cultural Arts Commission. On infrastructure, he has called for maintaining business-district and electrical systems, adding public restrooms at key downtown locations, and keeping up with road and sidewalk maintenance and traffic-safety enforcement. He has also opposed using taxpayer money to fund mayoral medical insurance, consistent with the fiscal-oversight work — including an actuarial review of the city's CalPERS pension plans and monthly reporting of city-issued checks — that he has championed on the council.
