Brian H. Jaffe

Candidate for City Council (At-Large), Larkspur · Homebuilder / Energy Consultant

Brian Jaffe is a veteran, builder, husband, and father of three living in Larkspur. He served five years as a U.S. Navy officer with two overseas deployments. After his military service he developed a civic-technology platform connecting community members with elected leaders, and he currently builds starter homes to address housing shortages while advocating in Sacramento for clean-electricity initiatives to address affordability and climate concerns.

Positions in brief

Brian Jaffe's campaign centers on three pillars: strengthening community connections, improving housing affordability, and making city government more responsive.

Jaffe wants to "protect and grow the connective tissue" of Larkspur by partnering with civic institutions and welcoming new families. On housing, he points to a state-mandated requirement for 979 new housing units by 2031 and argues the city should plan for that growth proactively rather than leaving decisions to "state bureaucrats and the courts," including using regional agencies to help control electricity and insurance costs. On government operations, he wants to shift City Hall from what he calls a "process mindset" to a "service mindset," with faster phone responsiveness, published permit timelines, same-day routine processing, and staff guidance aimed at helping residents "achieve your goal" rather than penalizing paperwork errors.
