Ramon Chavoya
Candidate for City Council (At-Large), El Centro · Student
Ramon Chavoya has recently completed his studies at Imperial Valley College and is currently working toward a public administration degree at San Diego State University's Imperial Valley campus.
Positions in brief
Says he was motivated to get involved in local government by a sense that conditions in El Centro have not visibly improved in recent years.
Chavoya has said he was drawn to public service after hearing from his grandparents and their friends that little has changed in El Centro over the years, and he wants to help bring visible progress to the city.
On the issues
Believes the city has seen too little visible progress in recent years and wants to help bring change.
“I guess seeing that nothing has changed. Talking to my grandparents and their friends and hearing them say that everything in El Centro has remained the same.”
