Hugh Henderson
Candidate for City Council Member, Oakley, District 2
Hugh Henderson has served on the Oakley City Council and was appointed mayor by his council colleagues in December 2025 after previously serving as vice mayor. He has spoken publicly about being dyslexic, saying the condition has never limited his service and sharing his experience to encourage others facing dyslexia or other disabilities.
Positions in brief
Henderson's stated 2026 goals for Oakley include a new 55-acre park, the Laurel Road extension, a new library, and continued investment in police staffing and resources.
As mayor, Henderson has said he wants to advance a planned 55-acre park as a hub for recreation and community gatherings, continue the Laurel Road extension to ease traffic and support development, break ground on a new library, and continue prioritizing police staffing, resources, and technology.
