Mario Diprisco
Candidate for City Council (At-Large), Lafayette
Mario DiPrisco was born in Albany, California, and moved to Lafayette in 2008 to raise his family. He spent 26 years at Dodge & Cox, one of the largest privately held investment managers in the United States. He served on the Albany City Council in his early 20s. He serves on the board of directors of CF Lafayette, a local community foundation. In August 2026 the Lafayette City Council appointed him to a two-year council seat after no other candidates filed for the office.
Positions in brief
DiPrisco organizes his platform around keeping Lafayette 'safe' — chiefly through wildfire preparedness — and 'vibrant,' including downtown revitalization and open governance.
DiPrisco says wildfire is the dominant threat facing Lafayette, arguing that detection technology already exists and the real challenge is implementing it with urgency; he supports faster wildfire detection, addressing the home-insurance crisis, evacuation preparedness, safer street design, and protections against elder fraud. Under a 'vibrant' banner he supports downtown revitalization, community events, accessible parks, sound city finances, open governance, and a strategic approach to housing. He has pledged to keep public records of his votes and reasoning, answer constituent emails personally, and provide regular updates on his work.
