Wolf Croskey
Candidate for City Council (At-Large), Pittsburg · Small Business Owner
Wolf Croskey is a 46-year Pittsburg resident and graduate of Pittsburg High School. His family has run a business on Railroad Avenue since his grandfather founded it in 1946 and his father relocated it to Pittsburg in the late 1960s; Croskey now operates it. He is a father of six, a former Planning Commissioner, treasurer of the Pittsburg Rotary Club, a former president of the Pittsburg Chamber of Commerce (where he now serves as CEO), co-owner of the Pittsburg Diamonds independent professional baseball team, and a founding member of the Black Diamond Business Builders. He was named the city's 2015 Volunteer of the Year and serves on the Measure M/P and Pittsburg Unified Bond citizen oversight committees.
Positions in brief
Croskey's campaign centers on recruiting businesses to Pittsburg, more accessible city government, and addressing the city's budget shortfall and road-repair backlog.
On his campaign site, Croskey says he wants to recruit employers and fill vacant buildings to make Pittsburg the easiest city in East County to open a business, hold council meetings that travel to neighborhoods, and issue city notices in plain language and multiple languages. He points to Pittsburg facing a multimillion-dollar budget shortfall and an $84 million road-repair backlog as fiscal challenges facing the city.
