Robyn Kuslits
Candidate for City Council Member, Concord, District 3 · Substitute Teacher
Robyn Kuslits is a U.S. Navy veteran with deep family roots in Concord — her grandmother once lived down the street from where she lives now, and her grandfather served as a Concord police officer. She holds a law degree and currently works as a substitute teacher with the Mount Diablo Unified School District. She has spent years in nonprofit leadership at the Rainbow Community Center of Contra Costa County, the county's only LGBTQ community center, where she has worked as a food pantry manager and program coordinator and has served as board president. She also serves as Controller of the Democratic Party of Contra Costa County.
Positions in brief
Kuslits is focused on public safety, protecting residents regardless of immigration status, affordable housing, and building a more responsive local government.
Kuslits says Concord's local government should stand up for residents' safety, listen to their concerns, and fight for their needs. Citing the immigration court visible from her window, she has pledged to protect every resident regardless of immigration status. She supports defending affordable housing and restoring just-cause eviction protections, and wants safer, cleaner streets, sidewalks, and parks. She has said she will work across school districts, neighboring cities, and regional and state agencies to strengthen public safety and trust.
