Positions in brief
Wong's 2026 audit plan focuses on following up on past recommendations, reviewing the Rent Stabilization Board's finances, assessing the city's overall financial health, and launching a confidential whistleblower hotline.
Wong's five-part 2026 strategy includes tracking 65 open recommendations from nine previous audits, examining the Rent Stabilization Board's finances and operations, assessing the city's overall financial health with attention to high-risk departments, completing short-term projects that give officials and the public timely information, and finishing ongoing contract and homelessness audits. A major 2026 priority is the full launch of the office's whistleblower program, including a confidential 24/7 hotline for reporting fraud, waste, or abuse, approved in June 2024.
