Positions in brief
As an environmental scientist, prioritizes climate leadership and housing growth through the San Pablo Avenue Specific Plan, expanded mobility options, working with the school board on youth empowerment, and public-safety accountability.
López supports implementing the San Pablo Avenue Specific Plan to address 'housing growth needs' while maintaining 'services and retail' for the community. On transportation, he prioritizes 'traffic calming measures in our residential neighborhoods' and expanding electric-vehicle charging stations. As an environmental scientist, he wants Albany to 'position itself as both a regional and state leader in climate policy and climate equity.' He commits to working 'intentionally and fruitfully with the School Board' on youth empowerment, and on public safety stresses 'accountability, transparency, and effective dialogue' between community leaders, residents, and public-safety officials. He frames his approach around the principle: 'We cannot remain complicit with the status quo. Now is the time to act and catalyze change for Albany!'
