Positions in brief
Barrientos's platform emphasizes affordable housing for essential workers, a downtown police sub-station, a downtown park, and infrastructure improvements.
Barrientos supports affordable housing options for teachers, nurses, police officers, and firefighters who want to live near their workplace, with units tied to original purchase price plus cost-of-living adjustments. He has proposed a police sub-station on the north side of Highway 580 for faster emergency response, robotic parking garages downtown, bike lanes and pedestrian crossings on the 580 overpasses, a new library, and a large downtown park, and wants to work with churches and nonprofits on homelessness.
